Christmastime with the Johnston's

This year was special. It was our Dean's first Christmas, the first one I've spent away from home and my brother & sister-in-law were here from Germany- Christmas/ Family reunion! I didn't get my camera out much that week. I wanted to actually enjoy our time and not focus so much on the pictures like I normally do. it was so refreshing! here are just a few from our mini-vaca :)

in the morning, when the house is still quiet and it's me and him. most of the time I just enjoy it and not worry about my camera. every now and then though I get it out and step back for a few minutes to just watch.  by the way, I consider it a personal accomplishment I haven't eaten these feet right off his body, haha! just wait, you'll see what I mean..

johnston christmas

this is the first year the kids are old enough to really decorate with us. ornaments have changed their location on our tree several times (the number continues to rise each day) new items have found a place throughout the branches, there's gold glitter everywhere and my tree skirt never lays neatly. this is when holidays become so much fun. our children are old enough to enjoy (and understand) Christmas activities and family traditions- I'm so excited! I stood back this weekend while they set everything up with Jake. here are just a few shots from that evening..

 

 

 

 

this year I completely changed our Christmas décor. everything use to be red & gold but we're going a more classic route this time and are having a white & gold Christmas. I'm in love with the clean look.. here's a peek
